Afternoon shooting sends man to hospital

NANCY COOK - SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport Police are searching for the suspects responsible for an afternoon shooting which sent one man to the hospital in west Shreveport today. 

Eldrick Thomas, 20, was transported to University Health for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Just before 3 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to a home in the 2600 block of Bibb Street relative to a man who was suffering a gunshot wound there. 

When officers arrived at the scene of the crime, they made contact with Thomas, who was suffering a single gunshot wound to the right leg.  

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes investigators arrived at the scene of the crime and are currently gathering information into the matter. 

Based on information provided by the victim, he was shot by suspects who were reportedly driving a black sports utility vehicle.  Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit their website at  www.lockemup.org.
