A headlight out leads to a slew of charges for a Jonesboro man.

OUACHITA PARISH, La. - Having a headlight out has lead to a slew of charges for a Jonesboro man.

Louisiana State Troopers were patrolling on Well Road Sunday morning when a vehicle, driven by Roger Schanks, with a headlight not working passed them.

Troopers tried to pull the Schanks over, but he continued onto I-20 heading towards Shreveport.

During the chase, Schanks crossed over the center line and drove on the shoulder multiple times.

Schanks also avoided spike strips and attempted to ram a Trooper's car.

He got off the interstate on Exit-103 and turned onto Highway 80.

Troopers used the PIT maneuver to stop Schanks and he crashed into the overpass guardrail. 

Schanks accelerated and rammed an officers car head on.

He was pulled from his vehicle as he resisted being put in handcuffs.

Schanks was arrested and charged with his 5TH DWI offense, Aggravated Assault on an officer, Aggravated Flight, Resisting an Officer, Driving Under Suspension, and Non-working Headlight.

He is being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center on $72,400 bond.
