18 horses dead after truck carrying livestock overturns

GREENVILLE, Miss. (WLBT) - According to Corporal Tony Dunn with MHP, 18 horses are dead after a livestock truck flipped over on U.S. 82 near Greenville Wednesday night.

There were 37 horses crammed onto the 2007 Peterbilt Livestock hauling truck.

The truck flipped on it's side into a ditch on Leland near Lanceville Road and 18 horses were killed.

 

The driver, Harry Swift, from Bastrop Louisiana was not injured.
