Welfare Bill Heads to Jindal's Desk
BATON ROUGE -- A bill headed to Governor Bobby Jindal's desk will now make it illegal for Louisiana's welfare recipients.
To spend their federal assistance at jewelry stores, lingerie shops, tattoo parlors and nail salons.
The bill codifies rules put in place earlier this year by the state Department Of Children And Family Services.
The law would also prevent welfare money from being spent on video arcades, bail bond companies, nightclubs and bars.
