Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith Settle Feud in Epic Drum-Off

Today -- Celebrity feuds are always interesting, but they're rarely as fun as the one that touched off between Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith when the former claimed to be the latter during a recent Reddit AMA. That's partly because there was never any real bad blood between the lookalike stars, and partly because they settled the feud in the best way possible — with a crowd-pleasing drum-off on "The Tonight Show."

Before getting behind their respective kits, Ferrell and Smith — who were decked out in matching Kiss "Destroyer" shirts, black leather jackets and backwards baseball caps sat — down with host Jimmy Fallon to talk about their mock beef.

"I can feel the heat coming off of your bodies — the anger, the pent up rage and confusion," Fallon said.

The confusion he was feeling could have been coming from the audience, who then saw Smith, pretending to be Ferrell, insist that he was, in fact, Smith. Got it? Well ...

"It is not true, 'cause he's not me," Ferrell, pretending to be the real Smith, shot back.

There was only one way to settle it! Both men hit the stage to prove their mettle when it comes to music, going back and forth with beats and barbs.

"That was cute," Ferrell told Smith after a particularly impressive throw down. "Do you play for the Lukewarm Chili Peppers?"

It soon seemed like the real drummer was the shoo-in for the win, but then Ferrell pulled out two secret weapons: a cow bell and the rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing "Don't Fear the Reaper."

Advantage, Ferrell.

But the funnyman wasn't the real winner. Ferrell and Smith raised money for their favorite charities, Cancer for College and Little Kids Rock, by selling off autographed cowbells promoting their drum-off.
