LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Wednesday’s $400 Million Jackpot ($227.8 million cash option) is one of the largest Powerball® jackpots ever.
There was no jackpot winner in Saturday night’s drawing, but ten lucky players did correctly match the five white numbers drawn to win the Match 5 prize of $1 million, one each in Georgia, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and two in Florida and Michigan.
One lucky player in Texas spent the optional $1 to add PowerPlay and won the $3 million prize (the 3X drawn) and one very lucky player in Arkansas, Jacqueline Beverly from Crossett matched the Match 4+1 prize ($10,000) with PowerPlay and won $30,000. In Arkansas, 5,428 Powerball® players won from $4 to $500 in the Saturday drawing.
Powerball® has risen to over $400 million three times, all since November 2012 - $590.5 million on May 18, 2013; $587.5 million on November 28, 2012; and $448.4 million on August 7, 2013.
Powerball® is a multi-state jackpot game. Drawings are held at 9:59 p.m. CST every Wednesday and Saturday. Five numbered balls are drawn from 1 to 59 and one numbered ball is drawn from 1 to 35. If all your numbers match those that are chosen, you win the jackpot, which starts at $40 million and grows until someone wins. If other players also match all six numbers, the prize will be shared in equal amounts. Each Powerball® play is $2. For an additional dollar, you can add the PowerPlay® option to increase non-jackpot winnings by as much as a million dollars.
