El Dorado School Ranks Top 10 in Arkansas

El Dorado- -

With Parkers Chapel School District being a small district of its own, some may think its unrecognized.

"It's small and the classrooms are small."

Being small is what sets them apart from other school districts in the area.

"You have a connection with your teachers, and they can help you after school, before school, and anytime you need them."

Parkers Chapel High School was recently ranked as a top 10 school, in the state of Arkansas, by the U.S. News and World Report.

Principal, Mike Larue, says he was not shocked knowing that his school got this high regard.

"We're competitive. We're competitive with other schools in the state, but we don't feel any outside pressure. We put pressure on ourselves. We don't have to have outside pressure."

Geometry teacher, Teri Poole, says she sees all of the hard work that goes into making Parkers Chapel a top rank school, first hand.

"We have great kids and they all have great expectations of going to college. Therefore, they know what they have to do and they work hard to do it."

This type of reassurance makes senior, Caleh Wall, feel great about her school.

"It makes me feel good. It makes me feel like I can go into the world with a better education than others are getting."

Parkers Chapel High hopes to rank even higher next year, and says that they are shooting for that number 1 spot.
