South Arkansas Chemical Company Fined by OSHA

East Camden-- OSHA is citing the Austin Powder Company, in East Camden, for 22 serious and one repeat safety and health violation.

OSHA says the company failed to correct multiple deficiencies in its chemical process safety management and other workplace safety hazards at its facility. 

Austin Powder Company manufactures industrial explosives and provides blasting services.

The company’s penalty totals to $178,400.

Austin Powder has 15 business days from receiving its citations and penalties to comply or contest the findings before OSHA.

KTVE reached out to Austin Powder Company for a comment on the citations, but none was given.
