METAIRIE, La. (WDSU) -- You can find a lot of things on Craigslist, and a sign from above is apparently one of them, according to a Metairie elderly woman.
Virginia Geretano, 81, is selling a mug, which she said shows an image of an angel in it after she drank a cup of hot chocolate on “one stressful evening.”
That evening was about a year and a half ago, she said, and the sign was just the beginning of good things to come.
“The full story is that for (three) weeks, I had been denied by phone and letter insurance coverage on a major repair on my property. The day after the angel appeared in my empty hot chocolate cup, the insurance company approved the repair,” Geretano’s post on Craigslist read.
Geretano said she felt that was her miracle and wants to pass that miracle on to someone else. She hopes to sell the mug for $1,500 - cash only.
Geratano’s daughter, 51-year-old Ginger Murray, said her mother has a caveman mug as well. But that one isn’t for sale.
“She’s been saving the cup so no one would wash it out,” Murray said.
Murray said that her mother was going through a rough time before the angel appeared in her mother’s coffee cup. To Murray’s mother, it’s a miracle. A miracle she hopes to pass on to someone else.
Murray said she has received several calls from interested people, but no one has purchased the mug yet.
