UPDATE Man Arrested For Shooting on Blanks St.


UPDATE June 14th :   

MONROE - Vonterrius White was arrested and booked at OCC on Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon warrants earlier today.

The arrest is in connection with the shooting that occurred yesterday in the 5200 Blk. of Blanks St. 

White was being treated at a local hospital and was taken into custody upon his release.  White’s bond was set at $515,000. 

– Police say a man was shot in the arm after a confrontation over an ex-girlfriend.

Around 2 p.m.  Monroe Police say two brothers drove to a house on the 5200 block of Blanks Street, so one of the brothers, Quinterrius Puckett could visit an ex-girlfriend. 

Another man, claiming to be the new boyfriend got upset and produced a handgun. Puckett’s brother then got out of the car and also produced a hand-gun, and several shots were fired.

The boyfriend was shot once in the arm and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Puckett was grazed by one bullet in the head. 

Monroe Police were able to secure all firearms and have the two brothers in custody who are cooperating with police. 

Puckett is alleged to have battered the ex-girlfriend during the confrontation.  He was arrested and booked at OCC for Domestic Battery charges.

Detectives are still investigating this case and charges are pending the final outcome of the investigation.
