Tallulah Doctor Accused of Providing Girlfriend with 13K Prescription Pills

Vicksburg -- (WLBT) The girlfriend of a northeast Louisiana physician has pleaded guilty to five counts of prescription forgery.

Pattie Carr will be sentenced August 4th.

Prosecutors say Carr had her live-in boyfriend write fraudulent prescriptions for more than 13,000 pills including Hydrocodone and Lyrica.

Carr and Dr. Lawrence Francis Chenier III were indicted on 74 counts each of prescription forgery.

Chenier, who lives in Vicksburg, has a medical practice in Tallulah, Louisiana.

He is also charged with one count of conspiracy.

His trial is scheduled for September 21st.
