MONROE -- Monroe Police responded to a reported robbery at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Authorities report the robbery took place in the parking lot of the "Dirt Cheap" store in the 3100 block of Louisville Ave.
Two Asian females had left the store and were getting into their vehicle when an unknown black male suspect approached the female on the driver's side of the car.
Police said the suspect placed an unknown object against the side of the female victim and removed her purse and shopping bag from inside the vehicle.
The suspect then fled the area in a gray Dodge truck. Its license number has been reported as B882385.
The victim told police she believed the object that had been pressed against her to be a knife.
The suspect's vehicle was driven by a second unknown black male. It fled easbound on Louisville Ave.
According to police, a search of the area failed to locate the suspects or their vehicle.
No one was injured during the incident and detectives are still investigating the scene and interviewing witnesses. A search for the suspects and their vehicle is ongoing at this time.
