Monroe Man Arrested with Drugs after Hit and Run

MONROE (KTVE/KARD) -- Monroe Police arrested 36-year-old Olandius Hicks of Monroe on Friday for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance during the course of a traffic investigation.  

Monroe Police were investigating a hit and run report at I-20 and US 165 that led to the identification of Olandius Hicks as a suspect.  

Monroe Police made contact with Hicks regarding this incident.  

During the course of the investigation, officers observed Hicks attempt to hide suspected Marijuana.  

Hicks was taken into custody and also found to have suspected Cocaine in his possession that is estimated to have a street value of approximately $3,500. 

Hicks was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center.

He has been charged with Following Vehicle, Hit and Run Driving, Operating Vehicle while License is Suspended, Possession with Intent/Distribute/Manufacture of CDS II and Possession of Marijuana.

His bond has been set at $14,150.

Previous arrest records show Hicks has a history of drug possession.
