Farmerville Man being Held on Rape Charges
FARMERVILLE (UPSO) -- A 29-year-old Farmerville man is being held in the Union Parish Detention Center on two rape charges.
Daniel Levon Hicks was booked into the detention center Tuesday on charges of aggravated rape of a 12-year-old and the forcible rape of a 17-year-old. His total bond is set at $216,000.
Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates said the sexual encounters occurred the night of June 27 and that the 12-year-old’s stepfather found out. He then told his wife who reported the incident to the sheriff’s office July 2.
Investigators reported that the two girls called Hicks to come pick them up and to ride them around town, which he did. After stopping at a store in town, the victims reported that the suspect drove them to a secluded area where he first had forced sex with the 17-year-old and then the 12-year-old.
Gates said Hicks turned himself in Tuesday at the sheriff’s office.
