The Second Circuit Court of Appeal will hear the appeal of Dalton Fletcher on Monday, August 11 in Shreveport.
Fletcher was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for the 2010 murder of his parents.
After a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Fletcher was re-sentenced last October to life in prison without the eligibility for parole.
The Louisiana Appellate Project will represent Fletcher during his appeal, which claims that the trial court’s ruling failed to comply with U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that automatic sentences were unconstitutional.
