Gene Ponti rejoined the KTVE/KARD sports team in August 2010 and brings with him a wealth of broadcasting experience, both on radio and television.
He grew up in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana where his family still lives. After playing football and then graduating from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) with a degree in Radio/TV Management and a Masters in Communications, Gene began his career with KTVE, NBC 10.
Nine years later, he broke off into the private sector starting his own video production company and later two well-known local restaurants, Sport City Grill and The Pickle Barrel. When he's not holding down the fort there, he's covering ULM, Louisiana Tech, Grambling State, and LSU athletics; along with his beloved Saints.
Gene enjoys playing golf in his rare spare time but is most enthralled by the time spent with his wife, Suzanne and his two children, Christian, 4 and Madison, 2; whom he hopelessly adores!
He is always looking for local sports stories, so if you have a story idea, or just want to say hello, contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
