Natasha Williams comes to the Arklamiss extremely happy to finally be able to leave the snow shovel, winter coat and boots behind.
The veteran News Anchor spent more than a dozen years as an Anchor and Investigative reporter at #1 CBS affiliate in the country, WHIO-TV. Natasha received her undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina and a Master's degree from The Ohio State University.
She began her broadcast career as Anchor/Reporter at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee and also held the same position at WTVO-TV in Rockford, Illinois, WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio and WRGT-TV/WKEF-TV, the FOX/ABC affiliate in Dayton. Natasha has won several awards. She was named Journalist of the Year By Public Children Services Association of Ohio in 2009. She was also named best reporter and she was awarded for best broadcast writing by the Ohio Associated Press in 2008. Natasha was also honored by the Associated Press for a homelessness investigation, which led to policy changes in the city of Dayton that same year. She has also been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists and won an Emmy Award for coverage of the 2001 Xenia Tornado and was nominated again for an investigation about Dirty Swimsuits. Natasha received a honorary PhD. from Wilberforce University in May of 2008, for her commitment to area youth and charitable causes in Southwest Ohio. She is a Life member of the National Council of Negro Women. A life member of the NAACP and a is a life member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, where she has served as Health committee chairperson and chaired a 5-K Run for Health for 6 years as a part of Beta Eta Omega chapter of AKA; She is an active member of The National Association of Black Journalists; and The Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists; and was also an active member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. One of her favorite part of the job wherever she is living is visiting schools to motivate students and encourage academic excellence. Natasha is an an avid runner and has completed 13 full marathons and a few dozen half marathons. Away from work, Natasha enjoys working out, movies, the theater and reading. She is married to Joey D. Williams. They have two boys, Joey Jr. and Jordan "Max". She is looking forward to exploring beautiful Northeast Louisiana and has already been met some of the warmest, friendliest, most generous people ever.
