Grambling State University -- Grambling State University received a visit from syndicated radio host Tom Joyner.

Joyner was there to present a check for $50,000 to the university.

The money will used for scholarships.

GSU won the money by finishing first in AllState's "Quotes for Education" contest.

32 students each received a one thousand dollar scholarship.

"You hear it all the time people have to leave school because they have run out of money. So that's why we have formed the Tom J foundation. We help students who are continuing their education at historically black colleges" said Tom Joyner.

The remaining scholarship money will be used to recruit incoming freshmen and transfer students.
