MONROE -- A summer camp for kids with special needs cut the ribbon on a new pavilion.

Medcamps of Northeast Louisiana dedicated the Larkin Gibbs Memorial Pavilion and Gardens.

It was designed by the Louisiana Tech School of Architecture and is named in memory of a counselor who passed away in 1999 -- they had a vision for an outdoor place for campers to gather.

Medcamps holds several camps at Camp Alabama in Choudrant during the summer for kids with a variety of physical and mental disabilities.
