MUST WATCH: West Monroe Man Pays It Forward to Family in Need

MONROE, LA -- On a quick break from work, Randy Peavy spots The Hixson Ford Pay it Forward truck.

“I walked over to see what was going on, and I saw that it was a good thing,” says Peavy.

After accepting the generous opportunity, the clock starts. He has one hour to pay it forward. He chooses a family of three young boys in need of a good deed.

“There is a place and a time for everything and I think this is a good thing for them,” says Peavy.

Ivan Smith Furniture donated 300 dollars in cash. Peavy gave the money away to a friend of the family, that’s helping to support the three young kids.

Peavy stops by his friend, Twanna Roberts’ work. The exchange is filled with emotion and hugs.

Peavy says, “I’ve nominated Dillon, Daniel and Bro man for the pay it forward for 300 dollars.”

“Thank you,” says a stunned Roberts.

After a long pause and embrace, Roberts continues her gratitude, “You don’t know how much this means.”

“I know sweetheart, I know,” says Randy

Roberts whispers, “You didn’t forget them.”

Three brothers, ages six to 16, will receive the money. On behalf of the boys, their grandmother accepted the cash.

She plans to take them shopping for new school clothes. An experience she hopes will brighten their day and take their minds off of a tough situation.

“I feel like they have a need for that. Once they feel good about themselves they’ll do better in school and feel better about what’s going on in their lives,” says Roberts.

Roberts hopes the boys will not only  appreciate the money, but also a random act kindness. Showing them good is out there, even in the toughest times.

“They’ve been through a lot and have probably seen more than they need to see and be around,” says Roberts.

There was another good deed during Wednesday's Pay It Forward. A random driver pulled up to our KTVE/KARD crew and donated the cash she had on hand. That money was added to the original 300 dollar total.
