Volunteers say the festival will highlight the oil town that residents remember.
Entertainment includes live music, a rib cook off and much more.
"It focuses on the oil industry itself, with the rod wrenching contest. We also focus with the children; we have the egg toss and the turtle races. There are several activities with the fun house," says Wimsett.
There is also a free gospel concert in Smackover tonight, to kickoff the oil town festival.
