Symptoms of a cold include runny nose, coughing, sneezing and sore throat. These symptoms tend to come on slowly and last for a few days to a week.
With a cold, you can still do most of the things you usually do.
You can take steps to prevent common respiratory infections.
To protect yourself and others wash your hands often with soap and water. If you do not have soap and water use alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth to help keep germs out of your body.
If you feel like your symptoms are getting worse you should contact your healthcare provider right away for an evaluation.
