NASA Educators Visit Monroe to Train Teachers
MONROE, LA -- Dozens of teachers were trained on Thursday by educators from NASA.
STEM training showed some area educators science, technology, engineering and math activities that could be demonstrated to kids.
The activities help children learn and have fun at the same time.
Educators outside of the classroom are some of the most important people in kids' lives and specialists say that STEM careers are growing.
"We need more engineers. We need more scientists. We need more inventors. And so, the more stem that we can get to kids, the more stem that is fun that we can get to kids. It's not just book learning. They're activities. And you apply this in your everyday life," said Emma Seiler, aNASA education specialist.
This is the third training session that NASA has conducted in the local area this week.
They are based out of the Stennis Space Center on the Mississippi gulf coast.
