Cerebral Palsy Telethon Raises Thousands, Continues Sunday

MONROE - We're partnering with Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana this weekend.

Proceeds from the weekend-long telethon go towards helping adults and children with the disorder, lead normal lives.

All weekend, volunteers from local companies, fraternities and sororities in the area are helping answer phones.

Our own KTVE/KARD crew, including Nick Lawton and Felicia Bolton hosted Saturday’s telethon.

Although Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana says there's no monetary goal, anything raised will stay right here in state to help folks with medical equipment, hospital care, and general living expenses.

"We have areas in this area that have no money raised in it,” said LCP President, Douglas Traham. “So we have clients in those areas, so the money from here will go to those areas throughout the state of Louisiana.”

If you'd like to donate to the Cerebral Palsy telethon, call 322-8000. Saturday’s Telethon runs from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

The telethon is also being live-streamed on the web.
