Monroe -- With the new school year just around the corner, many foster children are in need of school supplies.

CASA of Northeast Louisiana is holding a school supply drive and your donations are needed.

CASA is asking for backpacks, notebooks, and other supplies for kids in grades k through 12.

You can drop off supplies at Tablots in Monroe, Magic Grill in west Monroe, or the CASA office located on Riverside Drive in Monroe.

"A lot of these kids they're in foster care, and while foster parents receive a stipend to take care of things like this, often it's not enough to take care the supplies a child needs for school. And so we just want to make sure that our kids start off the school year with everything they need” said Adam McDonald with CASA of NELA.

CASA will accept donations through the end of the month.
