Press Release -- The Arkansas Service Commission (ASC), part of the Department of Human Services, Division of Community Service and Nonprofit Support, is looking for organizations that can use AmeriCorps members to effectively solve problems as identified in the Arkansas State Service Plan.
AmeriCorps programs address disaster services, education, clean energy, healthy futures, economic opportunity, disaster preparedness, veterans and military families, and Governor and Mayor Initiatives as defined by a local sponsoring organization. Programs will recruit and place members in direct service to their community to fulfill these initiatives.
Concept papers will be accepted from programs wishing to receive funding during the 2015-2016 Arkansas State AmeriCorps program cycle. Successful programs will begin September 1 or October 1, 2015 for up to a one-year period.
To be eligible for funding, an ASC concept paper must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m., September 4, 2014.
