The East Carroll Parish Law Enforcement District will receive $48,100 to purchase two patrol vehicles and equipment for public safety.
The Tensas Parish Law Enforcement District will receive $32,500 to purchase two patrol vehicles and the town of Bernice in Union Parish will receive $18,800 to purchase a patrol vehicle.
Louisiana Senators Mary Landrieu and David Vitter help secure the grant.
“Public safety should always be a top priority, and I’m pleased to see these parishes getting some assistance to improve their capabilities to patrol their communities,” Vitter said.
“Louisiana law enforcement officers tirelessly serve our communities day-in and day-out. To continue keeping our schools, churches, parks and neighborhoods safe, they need the best vehicles possible. This grant will provide the Bernice, St. Joseph, and Lake Providence police departments the significant resources they need to respond to emergencies quickly and keep our communities safe," Sen. Landrieu said.
