OUACHITA PARISH -- The 34th annual MDA Poker Run kicked off Friday afternoon.
It's taking place all weekend at Cheniere Lake Area 8, where hundreds are gathering to help raise money for muscular dystrophy.
Hundreds of motorcycle riders will set out Saturday morning, riding over 100 miles and back on a route around Northeast Louisiana to raise awareness for the charity.
Hosted by the Northeast Louisiana Motorcyclist for Kids, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"Last year we gave them about, $25,000," said organizer Squirrel Langston of NELA Motorcyclist for Kids. "This is not no one man show, it has blossomed because of the help of so many people helping us do this thing."
Tickets at the gate cost $30 and kids under 5-years old are free. That cost lasts through the weekend.
Between 6 and 10 p.m. Saturday, folks can get in for $10 to watch the live music. There will be a BBQ supper that night, followed by a live band from Hot Springs, AR and more games.
There's a raffle for a brand new Harley Davidson from Blue Bayou Harley in Monroe, plus, tons of games, vendors, food, live bands and prizes throughout the weekend.
The fun lasts now through Sunday afternoon.
